The Golden State Warriors are weighing an interesting move for players who started out in fantastic forms in 2024-25.

The Golden State Warriors’ regular season end was impressive, and after trading with Jimmy Butler, the team hit their form.

The middle of the season was far more painful for the warriors, but it’s forgotten how impressive they were in the beginning.

Golden State began with an electric 9-2 record to start the 2024-25 season, but it all began to fall apart after DeAnthony Melton suffered a torn ACL.

The Warriors began to collapse and in an attempt to save the slide, they traded to buy Brooklyn Net and Dennis Schroeder.

This didn’t work, and Schroeder signed a contract to land Butler, but the Warriors traded Melton to land him.

Unable to play due to injuries, the Warriors moved their pay from books to space and net teams, and he is now a free agent.

The Golden State Warriors have been slow and slow so far with their free agency. Jimmy Butler’s midseason move was a major summer acquisition of the team.

But there’s still work to do, especially at centers, where the team is losing veteran Kevon Rooney to the Pelicans.

Brett Siegel reports that “Dubs also maintain interest in Gary Payton II and DeAntony Melton.”

Melton is hoping to fully recover from the tears of the ACL towards the start of the 2025-26 season.

The Warriors could face competition to bring back DeAnthony Melton, believing that the La Lakers are interested.

The Lakers had lined him up as a replacement for Dorian Finney Smith, who signed with the Houston Rockets.

Since then, the Lakers have signed Jay Claravia from the Sacramento Kings, and their priorities are now to add a centre.

However, Melton never tops the team’s list on the first day of the free agency, as the ACL was torn apart.

He’s an addition of depth, and the Warriors know exactly what he can do. If they can bring him back, that might be a wise move.
