The New York Knicks are moving on with a free agency, but this could still be the biggest.

Without a head coach, the New York Knicks have made their roster even more appealing to Tom Thibodeau’s alternative.

After adding Jordan Clarkson to the roster, the Knicks made an even more impressive move, landing Gershonyabsle.

Guerschon Yabusele signed the Philadelphia 76ers on a one-year contract in 2024 after an outstanding performance in France at the Olympics. He left Real Madrid on the Spanish side.

Yabusele’s first stint in the NBA came with the Boston Celtics between 2017 and 2019. He had a hard time making an impact.

Speaking to Hoopshipe earlier this season, Yabusere reflects a significant improvement on the court after winning the title abroad.

He explained: “I’m totally different to the guy I was in Boston now. In the game, I understand the game, the pace of the game, and how fast it plays.”

“This game is completely different from when I was in Boston. You can get into a variety of situations, learn about losing and winning, what it’s like to win a championship. That experience made me a better player than I was back then.”

Guerschon Yabusele signed the New York Knicks, leaving behind the disappointing Sixth and the San Antonio Spurs who wanted to take him.

Shams Charania posted on X: “Guerschon Yabusele has agreed to a two-year, $12 million contract with the New York Knicks and player options.”

The move has received positive responses, with the Knicks adding an experienced shock maker who was impressed in 2024-25.

Kevin O’Connor posted on X: “Amazing. Hell of the Knicks’ signature. Yab was amazing last season.”

Fred Katz posted: “Good player. Good fit. Meet your needs. You can play 5.

Re: Knicks signing Yabusele…

Good player. Good fit. Meet your needs. You can play 5. You can run next to town or Robinson. You have to protect him beyond the arc.

Given the potential 2026-27 salary, I’m not hooked on PO, but that’s the cost of doing business for a good player

The addition of Yabusele helped build the Knicks roster, allowing the team to retain all the stars this offseason.

Former Sacramento king coach Mike Brown continues discussions over a new head coach, claiming he is at the forefront of his current situation.
