Daniel Cormier’s team was defeated and Cormier lost patience in this week’s episode The ultimate fighter 33.
It was Dixon who won the first round knockout when he pitted Team Cormier’s Alex Sanchez (Mexico) against Chaelsonnen’s Matt Dixon (USA) and put Sanchez in pressure without putting pressure on him early.
Dixon had Sánchez sat down greatly with Cormier’s frustration. The former two division UFC champions pushed forward and attacked by repeatedly screaming at Sanchez, but Sanchez couldn’t find his attack. He spent many matches countering and turning until he stepped into the right hand of Dixon’s left hand, which he dropped onto the canvas. Dixon continued on the ground and pillars to seal the contract.
The frustrated Comia was then torn to Sanchez.
“Listen to me, Alex, you have to go first,” Cormier said. “Your style won’t allow you to back up. Don’t back up. If you’re a fighter, you won’t back up (exp verse). You’ll go.
Dixon’s victory helped Team Sonnen fill the competition gap. He is also Sonnen’s first welterweight to advance, joining teams Cormier Danil Donchenko and Jeff Clayton in the semi-finals.
Next week, Team Sonnen’s Roybert Echeveria (Venezuela) will face Team Cormier’s Tumelo Manimala (South Africa) in the final flyweight match of the season.
As for guest coaches this week, when Cormier brought in earlier, there was no shortage of star power. tuf Competitors, who later became UFC champions, Rosenama Junas and Raquel Pennington, called on 20-year MMA veteran Ed Herman to give his team some pointers.
The ultimate fighter 33 Airs will perform live on ESPN+ every Tuesday at 10pm.
Unlike most editions of tufcoaches Daniel Cormier and Charle Sonnen will not compete at the end of the season as both have retired for a long time.
Finalists of TUF 33 Welterweight and Flyweight Tourments compete for a six-figure UFC deal in the show’s live finale battle. The dates for these matches have not been announced yet.
