After eliminating Damien Lillard, the Milwaukee Bucks are looking at two veteran point guards to play a role in the team.
The Milwaukee Bucks yesterday pulled apart one of the most polarized businesses in NBA history. Despite not having a pay cap room to do so, the Bucks signed a $107 million contract with Miles Turner.
Given the Bucks’ active activities at the Signature Free Agency, combined with the limited pay cap room, fans thought it was even possible to land the Pacers Center.
After all, the Bucks had to lose the dead weight. To accommodate Turner, the Bucks abandoned Damian Lillard and expanded their pay over the next five years.
This was a wise move considering Lillard was injured and going out for a foreseeable future while rehabilitating his injuries, but this was a wise move.
As the Bucks try to move on from Damien Lillard, they have to look for a new point guard to replace him. And it appears they have two candidates in mind.
After abandoning Damien Lillard, the Milwaukee Bucks are looking for a new point guard. And according to Chris Haynes, Chris Paul emerged as a candidate.
According to Haynes, the Bucks are one of many teams trying to land Paul. However, the veteran security guard wants to stay near his home on the West Coast.
“Chris Paul was a man who gained interest from the team. The Milwaukee Bucks have registered interest in him. He is said to want to get closer to the house. The LA Clippers and Phoenix Suns are still playing.”
However, Paul is not the only point guard option the Bucks are seeing. Former Rookie of the Year and Bucks star Malcolm Brogdon also appears to be an option, according to trusted insider X User Ary.
“The Milwaukee Bucks are emerging as a serious suitor for free agent guard Malcolm Broddon, a league source tells me.
“Milwaukee is actively looking for a point guard, and after the Bucks were exempt and extended Damian Lillard to acquire Miles Turner, sources said.”
The above point guard options are somewhat familiar with key figures within the Milwaukee Bucks organization.
Chris Paul played for several years under Doc Rivers and enjoyed the best years of his career under a polarized head coach.
As for Malcolm Brogdon, the young guard spent three seasons with the Bucks, including a rookie season, where he received the Rookie of the Year Award.
His final season with the Bucks was the same year that Giannis Antetocomo won the MVP award, and his partnership with Giannis was important to his success.
As things stand, Blogdon may be a possible option for the Bucks. But it’s hard to say which of these security guards will be coming next season, as they’ve been crazy so far.
