Young left-handed batsman Vaibav Suryavansi continued his impressive form with the bat in the ongoing Youth ODI series between the Indian and England U19s. Suryavanshi won the U19 ODI 50 but broke the record for Rishabhupand, which just fell to the milestone, as the fastest Indian.

The 14-year-old batsman won 86 with just 31 deliveries, including six and six, when India held the 40-over contest in the rainy 40-over contest in Northampton on Wednesday, July 2nd.

Suryavanshi reached half a century with just 20 balls. Southpaw became the second fastest Indian U19 batsman to do so. Team India’s wicketkeeper butter Rishabhupant destroyed 18-ball 50 against Nepal in 2016.

When he was fired, India had already scored 111 runs within eight overs of the pursuit. India chased 268 goals, with four wickets in hand, and had more than five overs.

Suryavanshi also etched his name into the record book for his power hit. He has reached the record for the largest six people due to Indian abuse in youth ODI. The Southpaw broke previous records for the eight Sixes, co-hosted by Mandeep Singh and Raj Angad Bawa.

Suryavanshi achieved boundary 78 of 86 runs. It was 90.69% of his total score, a rare feat only achieved by three other Indian players at the U19 ODI.

After being asked to hit first, England opener Ben Dawkins gave the host a solid start with 62 runs from 61 balls. Dawkins shared a 78-run stand with Isaac Mohammed. Isaac Mohammed added 41. Ben Mays tipped in at 31 before Thomas Leu hit an unbeaten 76 balls to help England post 268/6.

Kanishk Chouhan played an important all-around role. He took 3/38, including Ben Mays and rocky Flintoff’s important scalp. Kanishk then scored an unbeaten 43 in the bat. He and RS Ambrish (31*) have won India by over 5 overs.

A four-wicket victory gave India a 2-1 lead in the series. India will face the UK in its fourth youth ODI on New Road in Worcester on Saturday, July 5th.
