Owen Farrell will be joining the British and Ireland Lions forces in Australia, sources told ESPN.
British man Farrell will be in camp after Elliot Daly suffered an arm injury in Wednesday’s 52-12 victory with the Queensland Reds in Brisbane. He was sent for an X-ray after the match.
Farrell last played for England at France’s 2023 World Cup before confirming he would leave international rugby for personal reasons. He won 112 caps in England.
He then joined France’s side race 92. This eliminated him from playing in his country.
The move did not disqualify him for the Lions Tour, but he was removed from the first team by coach and father in May – Andy Farrell.
In June it was announced that he would return to the British and clubside Saracen after a season in France, and Farrell confirmed that he had not retired from international rugby and would not rule out playing for England again. His return to the International Arena was quickly tracked on a call to the Lions against Australia in the first match of three Test matches on July 19th.
