Los Angeles left-handed pitcher Clayton Kershaw won another honorable accolade as he became the 20th pitcher in MLB history to throw 3,000 career strikeouts.
On Wednesday night, Kershaw recorded his 3,000th career strikeout, leading six innings. Stadium took the time to pay tribute to future Hall of Fame and celebrate the monumental achievements of a man who has been throwing a sky high curveball in the Chavez Valley since 2008.

Of the 20 men reaching 3,000 strikeouts throughout their careers, Kershaw is just the fourth southpaw to win the honor, joining CC Sabathia, Randy Johnson and Steve Carlton. He is also the third pitcher who does it all for one team, joining Walter Johnson who did that for the Washington Senator and Bob Gibson who reached a milestone with the St. Louis Cardinals.
The Car Show features three Cy Young awards, a pitching triple crown, five ERA titles, a 10 All-Star selections and a 2014 National League MVP award.
The Southpaw, originally from Dallas, Texas, also has plenty of World Series rings, helping the develop four NL pennants while they were in office.
The historic milestone reminds me of the baseball world of Kershaw’s long-standing greatness, but there is still more baseball to play, with the left-handed taking part in Wednesday’s game with a 3.03 ERA.
Although praise and memory lasts forever, Kershaw’s longevity is not only a very impressive aspect of his career, but also supports the ‘ pitching roster currently being hampered, as LA wants to become the first repeat champion of baseball in a quarter-century.
But for now, at least for now, the world of baseball can understand the greatness of Clayton Kershaw, and fans can try and see how lucky they were to see 22nd place in all these years.
