The blockbuster trade between the Houston Rockets and the Phoenix Suns has not yet been confirmed.
After all, the transaction will be officially recognized on July 6, 2025, when the NBA’s free agency period officially begins.
Speaking of trade, the Rockets have acquired Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, Kevin Durant in exchange for their 10th pick in the 2025 NBA Draft and five future second-round draft picks.
However, new developments have been reported regarding the blockbuster deal.
While the acquisition of KD is a huge trade in itself, Rocket clearly plans to make NBA history with this trade.
According to Athletic’s Fred Katz, the KD trade could expand to a historic seven-team deal.
“The Rockets and Suns are working to expand Kevin Durant’s trade to deals that include seven league-recorded teams,” Katz wrote.
He added: “Other teams involved in negotiations at this time include the Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Net, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers and Minnesota Timberwolves.
“Trade is not imminent and details have been resolved as of Wednesday night.”
Including things like the Lakers and Warriors has certainly opened up potential moves around famous NBA stars.

If the historic move was completed, NBA insider Kevin O’Connor predicted a big move that could be seen moving around with La Lakers’ LeBron James and Warriors’ Jimmy Butler.
“If you really want to be hooked, I can say that the deal from KD to Houston, including Phoenix, is not finished. Still, you can add a third or fourth team. Well, Phoenix wanted Butler,” O’Connor said.
“So I sent LeBron and Bronnie James to Golden State, Jimmy Butler to Phoenix, Kevin Durant to Houston, then Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks to the Lakers,” he added.
Despite the very unlikely that this move will happen, Katz’s report certainly made fans think about it.
