BBC Details Jota’s Travel Route to SantanderDiogo Jota is filled with tributes

More heartbreaking details emerged surrounding the death of Liverpool forward Dio Gojota, who died at the age of 28 after a fatal car accident in Spain.

According to BBC’s Dan Roan, Portugal International has recently undergone mild lung surgery and was advised by a doctor to not travel in the air.

As a result, Jota had planned to return to Merseyside for preseason training by Ferry. Liverpool was scheduled to report on Monday.

His final journey involved driving from Porto to the northern Spanish port of Santander.

CNN Portugal shared a similar series of events in October 2024, attributed to a clash with Chelsea’s Tosin Adarabioyo (via BBC Sports).

The clash is understood to have occurred near Zamora, about 190 miles from both Porto and Santander, not too far from the Portuguese border.

Tragically, BBC Sport reports that the former wolf forward has reversed the exact same drive to attend his recent wedding in Portugal before.

No. 20 played a key role in the campaign, which won the title under Arne Slot after joining Wolves in 2020, earning 182 appearances for Liverpool, scoring 65 goals in all competitions.

This new information provides an even more painful context for the losses felt deeply in the whole football world, especially at Kirkby, when the team was preparing to reunite in a new season.

Jurgen Klopp was among them to send their respect to the strikers, “Not only was Diogo a great player, he was also a great friend, a loving and caring husband and father.” I wrote German.

Teammates Alexis Mac Alistair and Dominique Sobosilai have also had glimpses of the mood inside the camp, and it is heartbreaking to see the pain caused by this premature passage.

The tolls for soccer aren’t close to what Jota’s family has to feel.
