The Los Angeles claimed New York Yankees infielder CJ Alexander, the team announced. Outfielder Steward Berlo was designated as a task to create a room on the roster.
The acquired Berlo from the Toronto Blue Jays in May. He was designated before being designated at Triple A Oklahoma City after hitting .330 in 27 games.

Who is CJ Alexander?
Alexander, 28, was first selected by the Atlanta Braves in the 20th round of the 2018 MLB Draft. He was traded for the Kansas City Royals in July 2022, making his debut in 2024, making his appearance four times with one hit.
Alexander has joined track and field towards the end of the 2024 season. He then appeared in six athletics matches this season, reaching 17-3 (.176).
The Yankees claimed that Alexander was exempt from athletics in early June. He was designated for being assigned by the Yankees on June 30th.
Crossing Triple A in the Athletics and Yankees organizations this season, Alexander cut .239/.338/.439 with 10 home runs, hitting 36 runs.
