Ilia Topuria considers Paddy Pimblett to be the easiest fight in the lightweight division.
Topuria and “The Baddy” have been repeated so far in 2022 when both athletes were scheduled to compete in London.
Pimblett threw a bottle of hand sanitizer at the “Elmatador” after encountering the newly built 155-pound champion and his teammate. The two have been in each other’s throats ever since.
After Topuria won the vacant lightweight title with a grand first round knockout for Charles Oliveira, he went physical between the two at UFC 317. Pinblet entered the octagon at Joe Rogan’s request, urging the two to exchange words before Topria pushed Ribapudrian in.
While it’s definitely personal between Pimblett and Topuria, despite a 7-0 record under Scouser’s UFC banner, Topuria hasn’t seen Pimblett pose many threats to his lightweight reign. In fact, “Elmatador” considers Pinblet to be the easiest battle in the entire division.
“This is one of the easiest fights I can have in the lightweight division,” Topuria told TMZ Sports. “I can do anything with him. I enjoy the whole process.”
Ilia Topuria may have to wait for Pimblett to get another victory before getting a crack in “The Baddy”
Fans are ready to see Pimblett and Topuria finally clash with MMA’s biggest stage, but Dana White doesn’t seem to be that enthusiastic about the idea. Following the promotion’s latest pay-per-view offering, the UFC CEO expressed his dissatisfaction with the short exchange within the Octagon.
That may be because the UFC has already booked Pimblett and faces former interim champion Justin Gaethje with the lightweight title Eliminator.
According to Dricus du Plessis. Pimblett vs. Gaethje is expected to joint headline UFC 319 in August.
Of course, there is no official announcement due to the promotion, so it is recommended to take the DDP word with a grain of salt.
