The Los Angeles will call right-handed pitcher Emmett Sheehan for Sunday’s series finale with the Houston Astros, according to manager Dave Roberts.

Sheehan was shockingly given the option just a day after undergoing Tommy John’s surgery in 2023. However, he will return to the big leagues this weekend as the starting pitcher for Sunday’s contest.
Sheehan scored one run with three hits in a four-inning job with the San Diego Padres earlier this month. It was an impressive performance from the 25-year-old who had six strikeouts and didn’t take a walk when he returned to MLB.
Despite Sheehan’s strong 2025 debut, the chose to be right-handed to Triple A Oklahoma City the day after he started.
Roberts admitted that the right-hander deserves long-term in the ‘ rotation despite the team’s decision to temporarily send him back to minors.
“I think he controlled the rehabilitation program,” Roberts said. “He’s much more physical than before. I think he’s just right, calm about him. I think he’s got the command on the glove side and the changeup from that, the broken ball.
Sheehan returns to the big leagues on Sunday and appears to be a mainstay in the rotation.
