The latest from Ollie Watkins to ArsenalArsenal is ready to pay the superstarWhy does Arsenal want Rodrigo?Arsenal’s Next Over: Berta opens the talk about “one of the best CFS in Europe”

After the snail pace in the summer transfer window began, things are beginning to move in stages for Arsenal, with the first team formed before the pre-season.

Mikel Arteta and Andrea Berta are working hard to identify and sign new centre forwards, but the variables are in play and we will have to wait for specific advancements over the coming weeks.

Benjamin Sesko, who appeared as the top talent of Viktor Gyokeres and RB Leipzig in Sports Lisbon, appears to be a top priority that has been designated and tracked for several months.

Gunner has long been interested in Newcastle United striker Alexander Isaac, but Isaac is a cream for striker crops, and he is priced at an exorbitant £200 million.

Berta can still rely on the left field option. In fact, Aston Villa’s interest in Olly Watkins has been revisited.

The latest from Ollie Watkins to Arsenal

Watkins has been the long-standing Emirates goal, with a £40 million bid on the Aston Villa striker in January, but Unai Emery’s part could even reject it by highlighting it.

Arsenal fans may want a striker with a little more of the name Panache and fanfare, but England International (29) has been proven in the Premier League and with his performances in dinance.

Additionally, he is the focus of extensive profiling by Gunners data analysts, and is hailed by podcaster Rohan Jivan as “one of Europe’s best CFS.”

So, what should Arteta do? Watkins is valued at £60 million, so he is placed in a similar bracket to Gyoker. Sesko costs more and Isak is still more expensive.

It’s clear that Arsenal will upgrade to ninth place with this guy, scoring 35 goals and supplying 23 assists in the last two Premier League seasons.

But for all the Watkins quality and the cleverness that his signature would be closed, Arsenal is targeting another forward representing a much more exciting deal, even though he’s not actually number 9.

Arsenal is ready to pay the superstar

According to Spanish publication AS, Arsenal is ready to pay a key figure to sign Real Madrid forward Rodrigo, who began the era of Xabi Alonso on the back bench.

The Spanish giant will accept cashing this summer at the age of 24, asserting that Arsenal can secure his signature with a bid worth 900 million euros (£77 million).

There is a real sense that development could soon happen if Rodrigo continues to drift around the perimeter with Los Blancos due to contact with Arsenal and player aides since the end of the 2024/25 season.

Why does Arsenal want Rodrigo?

Called “world-class superstar” by Luka Modric, Rodrigo is one of the most talented players in the world, but is routinely ferried to the right aspects to accommodate the likes of Vinicius juniors and Kylian Mbappe.

At Arsenal, he has no such problem. Bucayo Saka kept the fort very well in the area and with Gabriel Martinelli’s future in the air, Rodrigo was able to prove a spectacular upgrade.

Statistics through the Transfer Market

Surprisingly, Brazil International far outperforms their right performance when they scored the field as the left winger. The problem, of course, is that he has few opportunities in his preferred position, and not many in between.

His creative quality, link up play, and his charming blend, which is actually a natural eye for goals, makes him the perfect player to slot a 207k winger with Saka a week.

Certainly, Rodrigo scored only six times in La Liga last season, but according to Sofa Scole, he missed just one big opportunity. Although it was hardly a year that he demonstrated the full range of his skill set, he managed to demonstrate deep-rooted aptitude in the final third.

Arsenal needs this. They need goals from central things like Watkins, as well as the whole park. Plus, they need players like Rodrigo who can balance his contributions. Also, according to FBREF, the South American star was ranked in the top 2% of the top five leagues in Europe for pass completion in 2024/25, top 14% of progressive carry and top 20% of take-ons per 90.

A successful take-on is recorded when the player defeats the opponent while bringing the ball directly into the possession.

So we have the advancement that allows us to dynamise the Arteta frontline, promote ownership-focused control and advance our driving plays ourselves.

If Arsenal level up next season and brings back silverware, they need not only the goalscoring quality that people like Watkins bring, but also the big game abilities of serial winners like Rodrigo.

His Champions League record speaks for itself, but even more of his rise in the most enormous costume of football in Real Madrid.

As mentioned before, Watkins is more than just a scorer. With his mobile rounded, he ranked in the top 3% of the top five leagues in Europe with assists per 90. Given the general clinical edge of Rodrigo, you can only imagine the types of partnerships that could be hit.

However, such duoes are billed for Rodrigo’s skills, their passion and ability to become one of the best wingers in the Premier League.

Certainly, Watkins is talented and has his own big game experience, but everyone can honestly say that he matches Rodrigo, the true “superstar” who actually leads Arsenal to the previously unthinkable Heights.

And, of course, it doesn’t even imagine how Saka’s world-class talent can enhance both players.

Arsenal is on the verge of creating a great gust of signatures that can truly lead Arteta’s projects into new territory, with the wealth of silverware worthy of his elite class units.

Watkins offers London the presence of the focus they long for, but in Rodrigo, Arsenal landed players who could lay gauntlets against the best players in the world.
