The Los Angeles are calling for former All-Star reliever Alexis Diaz, according to athletics Fabian Aldaya. Diaz has a 9.64 ERA from six appearances this year against Triple A Oklahoma City.
The move to summon Diaz is likely to replace reliever Julian Fernandez, whose debuted on Monday evening.

Diaz is working for the 2023 All-Star to return to his previous domination.
Diaz roughly scrutinised the first half of his 2024 campaign with a 4.33 ERA, but he firmly concluded the year with a batting average of just 0.164 against him. After just six games with the Reds this season, he received an option and was then traded with LA.
These six games consisted of eight winning runs over six innings, throwing three strikeouts compared to five walks. The 28-year-old wasn’t too hot to start in 2025, but I hope he can give a spark in his final debut.
The talent shown in his 2023 season is a framework for what could hopefully become another successful campaign. Diaz was rated at the 90th percentile of Haller that year with a swing and miss rate of 34.8% (suitable for the 95th percentile of active pitchers) and a strikeout rate of 30.1%.
Diaz’s four-seam fastball averaged 94.5 mph in 2023, dropping to just 93 mph in his small sample in 2025. His slider had a batting average of just .153 in 2023, but during the 44th inning he used it this season, the batsmen seemed to understand it, hitting .385 during six games against the Reds.
The four-seam fastball and slider are the two pitches that Diaz depends on, and we hope they have made the necessary changes to bring these tools back to MLB. If Diaz can show his All-Star self flash in the uniform, it would be a perfectly timed addition to the troubling bullpen.
