Liverpool joins Arsenal in Rodrigo raceThe Reds spent a lot of money on their new signature this summer

According to AS, Real Madrid reportedly set the lowest price tag for Winger Rodrigo at £86 million (€100 million).

The 24-year-old Brazilian played in just 92 minutes at the Club World Cup and is dressed in the fringe of Xabi Alonso’s plan, which has been overlooked since returning from an injury in April.

Both Arsenal and Liverpool are reportedly keen to secure his signature as soon as Real Madrid becomes available to him.

Liverpool joins Arsenal in Rodrigo race

Gunners have been chasing Brazilian stars all summer, but Liverpool joined Premier League rivals in a race to sign the LaLiga star.

Since joining the club from Santos in 2019, Rodrigo has crafted his reputation as a versatile attacker who can play on the side or in a more central role.

But under new coach Alonso, the 24-year-old saw his portion fluctuate. After six matches in the US Club World Cup, Rodrigo started once.

That decline in involvement has fueled speculation that Real Madrid may be open to hearing offers from players who are highly regarded but are no longer guaranteed to start regularly.

Liverpool is currently paying huge amounts of money for a new signature, so they are now evaluating their options. Their interest could increase even more as Luis Diaz leaves the club amid interest from Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

Gunners may seem to lead the race at the moment, but while they’ve signed a Real Madrid star, Liverpool’s entry could change things.

The next few weeks will be important in determining the future of the Real Madrid star, where both Arsenal and Liverpool will be taking part in the race.

Rodrigo’s Real Madrid teammate Jude Bellingham calls him the “most talented” talented player on the club’s team.
