Kevon Rooney was an integral part of the Golden State Warriors dynasty, which won three championships in the six-year timeline.

He contributed to a significant performance from the bench, but also intervened as a starter when called.

However, after a decade of stint with the Golden State Warriors, Kevon Rooney eventually left the team in free agency and joined the New Orleans Pelican.

Rooney had a great time with Dub and shared the courtroom with the Hall of Fame, including Kevin Durant.

The former MVP was a key part of the team that won the Warriors championship in 2017, but Rooney believes success is inevitable, with or without a slim leaper.

Durant moved to the Warriors, free agency, after nine years with the OKC Thunder.

KD helped the Dubs win the championship in his first year and was awarded the Final MVP for his performance against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

He averaged 35.2 ppg, 8.4 rpg and 5.4 APG, but all shot over 50% from the field.

Steph Curry was also great in the series, but KD took home the Finals MVP Honors in full control of the Cavs.

Despite his pure domination, Rooney feels that the Warriors could have done it without KD.

When asked in 2017 on the Warriors and Minus Podcast if the team could do that without KD, Rooney said: “Yeah, I think so.”

The three-time champions revealed that the team needs to add something to replace KD’s impact.

“We need to add something. We don’t know what it is. It has to be something around the edge, but I still think so.

“I don’t know if we can win three, but I think we can get another,” Rooney said.

The Dove dominated throughout the 2017 playoff run, beating 4-1 in the final to win the championship.

KD played a key role in that run and Rooney said it would be a much more difficult run without him, but Dub would somehow win the championship.

He added:

“I don’t think people are talking about us so we can’t stop them. It wouldn’t have been the same conversation, but I think we won.”

After losing to the Cavaliers in 2016, the Warriors knew they needed something special the following season to beat their rivals.

This is why they continued to add Kevin Durant to their roster.

A year ago today, Golden State won the 2017 NBA Championship. The Warriors finished the 2017 NBA Playoffs on the 16-1 (.941) mark and surpassed the LA Lakers’ 15-1 (.938) record in the 2001 NBA Playoffs, earning the highest single-season win percentage in NBA postseason history. pic.twitter.com/rgjbbgi9fk

The Warriors dominated the Western Conference with 67 wins that year in the regular season. They also wiped out all their opponents on their way to the finals. This is another epic feat to achieve.

The Cavaliers were waiting for them again in the final, but this time there was KD in the dub.

He scored the most points in all five games of the Finals and brought the championship back to the Bay Area.
