The Boston Celtics are going through a period of change. After Jason Tatum’s brutal Achilles injury in the playoffs, the Celtics are temporarily separated from competitor status.
The Celtics moved out of Christapsporzingis and traded him for the Hawks. But Boston traded Jrue Holiday for the Portland Trail Blazers, so they didn’t just stop there.
Players like Luke Kornet and Al Horford left the team in free agency. As part of the Lillard trade, the Celtics landed Anfernie Simons. However, the Celtics are also about to trade Simon.
Once the team passes what appears to be a reconstruction season, they rely heavily on Jaylen Brown and become leaders on and off the court.
However, from the sound of his latest comments in the media, Brown may be very annoyed by the role he is plagued by the Celtics.
Jalen Brown recently spoke in an interview with the Celtics blog. When discussing his time with the Celtics, Brown seemed to share some complaints he had previously not been grieved.
The former All-Star has made it clear that he must be far more reserved with the Celtics for countless reasons, including politics. As long as his role on the team made him dissatisfied.
“It was a long journey here in Boston, and I had to deal with a lot of things.
“I think it’s because of politics and because people might feel uncomfortable with who I am.
“I disagree with a lot. I had to change my role, my style.
“I had to do what other players of my talent had to do. I was always a guy on the team, so I was fine with them.
However, Brown admitted that all the sacrifices and difficulties he faced paid off as he began to lead the Boston Celtics to the NBA championship.
“We are extremely grateful to have won the championship, we are extremely grateful to have been able to succeed, and that is what we aim for.
“It’s not all about you. It’s not just about me. Do you know what I mean? I want the next generation to know that. It’s okay to play your role in the team.
Brown will be the best player for the Celtics next season. Because Tatum was injured and will not return until the 2026-27 season.
So, Brown needs to set the standard for his teammate, his teammate, to ensure that the Celtics culture does not dissipate during this uncompetitive season.
