LONDON – Top Ranked Amateur Lotti Ward announced on Tuesday that he will become a professional professional two days after winning the major title.

The 21-year-old British woman won with six shots by finishing third (only one stroke) at the Women’s Irish Open on the Women’s Europe Tour on July 6th at the Evian Championship on Sunday.

She was an amateur so she didn’t win any prizes in either tournament.

However, her good finish at Evian secured enough points to seal off her membership on the LPGA Tour via the elite amateur route. Woad, who was a national on the first team five times in Florida, leaves school with a year remaining.

“I am extremely excited to announce that I have decided to become an expert,” she wrote on social media. “I’m happy that I was able to secure a (n) LPGA card dramatically.

“I’m also pleased to accept membership for the 2026 Women’s Europe Tour. I’d like to thank everyone who helped me get to this position.”

WOAD is set to make her first professional start at the Women’s Scotland opening next week.

The UK Women’s Open is the final major of the year and will be at Royal Porte Call from July 30th.

The Associated Press contributed to this story.
