Man City, who is eager to stay.Adason may still have more to contribute in Man City

Manchester City hopes to retain one longtime player this summer despite reports of verbal agreements about potential exits.

Ederson is now the second-longest serving player on Pep Guardiola’s team eight years ago, poised to leave in the next 12 months as his contract expired in the next June.

Galatasaray is hoping to snap at 3 million euros (£2.6 million) at the 31-year-old knockdown price, offering to its valuation (L’Equipe), with Cityzens continuing to link with the possibility of a reunion with Burnley’s James Trafford.

On Wednesday afternoon, Sky Sports news reporters Darmesh Shes and Real Thomas allegedly wanted Man City to remain at Etihad Stadium, despite reportedly having a verbal agreement on personal terms with his agent.

The Premier League side has not been approached by Istanbul outfits and does not want Adason to leave, and the 31-year-old recently claimed “My future is here” and dismissed the summer exit report as “99% fake news.”

City’s No. 1 is not on the brink of retirement, and he was the go-to option between the sticks for most of last season.

The Brazilian not only became Etihad in all six Premier League titles Guardiola won, but also became synonymous with the most illustrious period in the club’s history as he is an integral part of the treble victory side of 2022/23.

Like the whole team, he probably wasn’t at his best in the last 12 months, but he has time to achieve more silver in Manchester.

Ironically, Burnley is interested in Stephen Ortega in a link with buyback Trafford (Sky Sports), and while the British youth could be a pillar of the team for around a decade, Guardiola will not like losing his first and second choice goalkeeper in the same summer.

It is unclear whether Adason will remain in Etihad by the end of August, but it is clear that he will not let him leave without leaving on his own to persuade his employer not to leave for Galatasaray.
