Stephen Curry knew he would reach the NBA when Bronnie James first saw him as a toddler.
Bronnie James had a huge mountain to climb when he first arrived in the NBA. With the Los Angeles Lakers #54 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, Bronney faced a lot of scrutiny when he first joined the league.
As the son of LeBron James, many people expected Bronnie to become a superstar-level player. But when he came to the league he wasn’t just at that level.
However, he showed many improvements, especially towards the end of the season. And as he enters the new season, Bronnie James has some lofty goals with the Lakers.
So far, it appears he’s keeping pace to achieve those goals. Bronnie James was incredible in the NBA Summer League.
In fact, Bronnie made Cooper Flag’s summer league debut very difficult for the overall pick in first place. It was amazing to see him grow, and Stephen Curry always knew he was at this stage.
Stephen Curry recently spoke in an interview with Complex. When talking about Bronnie James, he remembered seeing a young child for the first time in an NBA game.
Despite being only 3-4 years old, Bronnie James showed off his speed and athleticism, running up and down the court while playing.
“I remember how Athletic Broney looked that night, I couldn’t go beyond three or four. And now it’s crazy to see him in the league.”
As LeBron James frequently brought his family to the game, Curry must have met him for the first time while playing against the Cavaliers.
Not to mention Bronnie James, it’s unlikely that anyone knew his future goals, but Curry saw something in him that night.
Bronnie James has shown signs that he will become a strong defensive security guard in the future with his play. Dwyane Wade praised Brony’s potential defense.
However, the harsh improvements from his performance in the league last summer are much more severe than they are now.
Brony admitted that the game is slowing down and so is improving. Obviously, more experience makes James more comfortable in court.
Wherever he goes, he faces a ton of media scrutiny. However, the young star showed a lot of calm when dealing with this pressure.
Hopefully over time, James will be able to achieve his potential as the years pass.
