Former Los Angeles top prospect Diego Cartaya signed a minor league contract with the San Francisco Giants for each MLB insider Daniel Alvarez Montez.

On Monday, Cartaya posted a photo of herself wearing a San Francisco giant hat, hinting at her new signature.
Kartaya was a former top prospect in the organization, just as high as the No. 1 prospects on the teams in 2022 and ’23, around the MLB pipeline.
However, Kartaya struggled to hit in 2023 and 24, and was assigned and designated this offseason, then traded with the Minnesota Twins.

This year, Minnesota Triple A affiliate Cartaya hit one home run for 59-5 (.085), with one run hit and 40 strikeouts. He was then released last week by Minnesota and now joined the National League West Rival.
The Giants have signed two catchers previously in the organization this season. Last month, the Giants signed a minor league contract with veteran Austin Burns. In the 12 Triple A game, Burns hit .207 with an OPS of .510.
