Raheem Sterling is expected to seal off a permanent exit from Chelsea during the summer transfer period, and he is interested in joining Fulham.
According to former Premier League scout Mick Brown, it’s his preferred option, and Fulham is also interested in securing his signature.
“I hear that the move towards Fulham is his preferred option and that is something they are interested in.
“For me, it was the level he had to go and drop down until now, and he still managed to do the job.
“When he was at Chelsea and Arsenal, he is still expected to be an elite level Raheem Sterling like he was when he was at his best.
“They want him to score every week and solve the problems they had on both sides.
“He’s not a player anymore. I don’t know why he’s gone or he hit a wall.”
Raheem Sterling needs a new start
The 30-year-old hasn’t done his best for quite some time, and he had a disappointing spell at Arsenal last season. He was able to find the internet on just once in 28 appearances for them. He is no longer a key player for Chelsea. And he needs to leave the club to play more often. He wouldn’t want to sit on the bench at this stage of his career.
The player is interested from Saudi Arabia, but he wants to continue in the Premier League. Bayer Leverkusen is also enthusiastic about Sterling.
Joining Fulham might be ideal for him. He is likely to get more opportunities with them, and he can rediscover his form and confidence without being exposed to too much pressure.
It will be interesting to see if Chelsea are willing to sanction his departure this summer. They will try to get some money back from his exit and improve their team. They’ve already brought quality signatures this summer and are looking to improve their attacking units even more.
Flam can be used with sterling
Fulham is on track for the Premier League season and they will try to improve their teams and be able to push them into the first half of next season. Signing an experienced player like Sterling might be a wise decision. He is likely to be able to use reasonable money.
The player has won several major trophies throughout his career, and his winning experience and leadership qualities can prove to be invaluable.
