It appears that La Lakers and Luka Doncic have a framework ready to sign new contracts ahead of the 2025-26 NBA season.
Luka Doncic is doing everything he can to prepare for his new NBA season. The Los Angeles Lakers Point Guard enters his first year with his new team.
Previous All-Stars have done a lot of work to date. Donsic’s body transformation shocked Lakers fans as the guards became the best shape of his life.
But, away from the fitness side, he helped the Lakers a lot. Donsic helped sign the Lakers and Dianne Ayton.
And then Luka recruited Marcus Smart for the Lakers. The Slovenians are ready to compete with the Lakers, which will help bring in some of the pieces they need.
However, Luka has not yet extended his Lakers contract, so it will expire next year. However, one insider believes that situations will soon rest, making it easy for Lakers fans to rest.
NBA insider Ally used X to provide an update on Luka Donsic and his future with the Los Angeles Lakers.
League sources say Luka Doncic could re-sign a three- or four-year deal and win a $229 million contract.
“Confident, league sources have told me. LukaDoncic is expected to sign a long-term extension with the Lakers, which is probably a three- or four-year deal.
“He qualifies for up to $229 million over four years, and is primarily expected to work towards finalizing the contract this weekend.”
Doncic’s re-signing is considered a form. He is unable to sign a Supermax deal as he was traded prior to his rookie-scale extension, but the Lakers want to keep him as long as possible.
Once the Los Angeles Lakers finally signed Luka Donsic, they must realize they are on the watch to compete.
Honestly, the Lakers felt lucky to land a generation of superstars like Luka Doncic. And the fact that they still have LeBron James playing at the highest level means there’s no more excuse.
Doncic’s recruitment drive for Lakers is proof that he is committed to winning with the team. So Rob Perinka, Jeannie Bass, new owners Mark Walter and JJ Reddick have to play their part.
The Lakers struggle to compete in the Western Conference. There are some powerful teams that are getting in their way.
But if they can maximize both Donsic and LeBron next season, they will be strong contenders for the NBA Championship.
