Lando Norris offers a very cool stance in his F1 title battle with Oscar Piastri.

Briton is 16 points behind McLaren’s teammate Piastri, heading to Hungarian Ligue Rampuri this weekend.

Norris had claimed recent momentum with consecutive victories in Austria and the UK, but Piastri expanded his advantage in the championship last time by overtaking Polasittanoris in Belgium.

So far, the McLaren duo’s title duel remained in harmony, with the pair barely avoiding Norris being responsible immediately, except for a conflict in Canada.

When asked if he needed to get under the skin of the piastry, Norris told PA:

“I’m trying to have a good time. I still care about it, so I sometimes get upset, disappointed and angry with myself.

“But that doesn’t mean I need to take it out to Oscar, I just don’t get into that kind of thing.

“Yes, he (Piastry) is the guy I want to beat more than anyone else.

“But if I didn’t beat him, it’s because he’d done a better job. I’ll do it the way I think it’s the best for me.

“I really don’t care about them.”

Norris and Piastri’s relationship is “continuing to improve”

McLaren Team Principal Andrea Stella believes his relationships between drivers will “continue to improve” despite the team’s fight for the world title.

“If there is, the relationship between Oscar and Rand continues to improve, and this is not a random evolutionary effect,” Stella said on Saturday in Hangaroling, where Crash.Net is on the ground.

“This is because we invest in relationships. When we refer to the basics of Formula 1, the relationship is probably slightly less specific, but it’s just as basic as aerodynamics, and I think this includes the driver-team-driver relationship.

“If I took the race I had in Hungary last year, I spent quite a lot of time reviewing it individually with the driver.

“We tried to remind ourselves that Formula 1 is difficult and that we will always face some difficulties, which is the realization we need.

“From there, we will make sure that (we) have a framework that allows Rand and Oscar to pursue their aspirations and always protect the team’s interests, thinking about what we can do to improve and what we can do as a team.

“I am fortunate (the principal of the team) because the two drivers are very reasonable, very fair, very righteous, humble and most of all, knowing that we are here not only to pursue our current interests, but also to protect our careers and McLaren’s future.
