Newcastle United are on the market to bring new centre forwards to St. James Park before the summer transfer window closes in early September.
It is well-published that Liverpool is interested in a contract to sign Magpie Alexander Isaac after a £110 million bid was rejected for Swedish International.
But Eddie Howe is looking for something to be headed towards the centre, regardless of Isaac’s future at the club.
This means Newcastle is in the market to win No. 9 to play alongside Sweden’s advance or as a competition, and Benjamin Sesco is one of their top targets.
Sky Sports Reporter Keith Downey revealed that the club has offered to be a star for RB Leipzig, consistent with the towering attacker ratings.
What Benjamin Sesco can bring to Newcastle
The 6-foot-5 marksman will be a great signing for Newcastle. Because he is a well-balanced center forward who could become a dynamic option for Hau in his number nine position.
Despite his height, Sesko is an incredibly mobile forward, and likes to take part in build-up plays with dribbling and assists, and to be a threat in the box.
The clip in the video above shows his athletic quality. He’s making a big leap for him, so he’ll help him score from the cross, but the forward can also run behind and leave the defender with speed and agility.
Sesko is a center forward. Therefore, you can score in a variety of ways, from the cross, through the ball, from inside the ball, or from outside the box.

As you can see in the table above, Newcastle’s target provided Leipzig’s clinical presence in advance last season, surpassing his XG and scoring in a variety of ways in German outfits.
Sesko brought five assists and 1.2 dribbles per game with Bundesliga in the 2024/25 campaign.
However, the 22-year-old No. 9 is not the only striker on the club’s radar.
Newcastle inquiry with German International
According to Bootroom, Newcastle United are aiming to bring in two new strikers by the end of the summer transfer period, with the prospect of Isaac moving forward.
The report claims that the Premier League wants to sign another figure from Sesco.
It reveals that Yoane Wissa, Ollie Watkins, Nicolas Jackson, Evanilson, Lois Openda and Woltemade have appeared as signatures wherever possible to complement Sesko’s hopeful addition.
Woltemade is an interesting target for magpies. He reportedly wants to sign Bundesliga Champions Bayern Munich, who is waiting for Stuttgart to lower the forward’s rating before moving.
German International is reportedly valued at a fee of £40 million by the Bundesliga side, and Newcastle may feel an opportunity to plunge towards his services if Bayern does not want to pay the asking price.
Why Newcastle should sign Nick Ultemaid?
The Magpie should be pushed to sign Ultemade this summer, as Slovenian ace could potentially make a better signature than Sesco before next season, whether it’s an extraordinary addition to his own rights or a great addition.
Like the Leipzig star, the German forward is another well-balanced young man at the age of 23, with ninth potentially a great addition to the team to ease the chances of losing Isaac.
The 23-year-old Wiz has been out of the back of an exceptional U21 tournament against Germany in the Euro this summer, earning six goals and three assists in just five games.
The U23 Scout Antonio Mango, who called Striker an “exception,” claims that the forward is a “turnhead” in the tournament, and you can easily see why in the highlights of the clip above.
However, his shape in the Bundesliga last season suggests that Woltemade could enter as a centre-forward option even better than Sesco if Hau gives him the opportunity to shine as the main number nine.

As you can see in the table above, the Stuttgart star has good minutes per target, creating far more XAs for his teammates, and even though he played around 800 minutes less in the division, he created key passes for each game.
These statistics suggest that German attackers are based at least on previous semester forms, so German attackers are more prolific and creative, and could offer more for teams in centre-forward positions than Sesco.
So Woltemade could have a big impact as a striker who scores goals in the final third of the Premier League and is likely to create high-quality opportunities for his teammates.
Of course, the majority of this latest report is Newcastle’s interest in Sesco and Ultemaid. That means they both were able to arrive at St. James Park and compete with each other for the departure berth.
However, based on the Bundesliga format of the 2024/25 campaign, the Stuttgart guy might be the best option to start, at least in the short term.
