Dodgers' Mookie Betts screams fans for a standing ovation

Mookie Betts has undoubtedly experienced the coarsest stretch of his career.

The start of the season began as poorly as possible for the star player in Los Angeles. When he was in Japan for the two-game series and two-game series in comparison to the Chicago Cubs last March, Betts was sent home after getting sick with some kind of stomach illness. In addition to being extremely dehydrated, Betts is already a slim person and reportedly lost more than 20 pounds during this physical ordeal.

More news: ‘ Max Muncie thought his season was over after a scary knee injury.

He lost valuable time working out with his team as he ramped up to begin the season. Not only did he have to rebound away from baseball, but Betts also had to regain as much weight and strength as possible to explain the harshness of a full season. He was also fully transitioning to become a daily shortstop. It’s a very difficult feat given his age (32) and his vast experience as an elite outfielder. The set-off never stopped when he tossed the broken toes he endured in June.

For all these reasons, Betts (as of August 7) is currently batting 11 homers, 48 runs, hitting a shockingly low (by his standards) just a mere .236.

Mookie Betts of the ovation he received from fans:

“It was beautiful. Thank you to all fans. It’s very special. It’s the first time I’ve ever got something like that. If I’m in this situation I know Stadium is behind me.” pic.twitter.com/qm0olwvz01

The returned home and entered the three-game series this week, compared to the St. Louis Cardinals. On Monday, attendees stood up and gave Betts a very heartwarming applause in the hopes of letting them know their support. Mentally, Betts was everywhere as he was searching for something to help him with the hardships of his batting.

As Betts told the post-game media scrum, the gesture was highly praised.

“It was beautiful, so I would like to thank all fans for that,” Betts said. “It’s super special. It’s the first time I’ve ever got something like that.”

The will not repeat as World Series champions unless Betts can regain his form. He is still one of the most essential players on this roster, and the value he brings is considerable.

The hope is that the last few games win Betts. Against the Cardinals, Betts notched four hits (including two doubles).
