Chelsea and Manchester United hope to sign Gianluigi Donnaruma this summer.
According to ESPN, PSG is looking forward to offers from two clubs, the 26-year-old goalkeeper. The Italian decided to leave French clothing, and the two English clubs contacted agent Enzo Raiola regarding the goalkeeper’s moves.
The 26-year-old now earns 850,000 euros a month with his French club and wanted a wage increase to sign a new deal with the club. The parties were unable to find an agreement as PSG did not want to meet his demands. The Italian wants to move on, but it would be interesting to see where he goes.
Chelsea needs an upgrade
Chelsea need a quality goalkeeper, and Donnaruma is an upgrade for Robert Sanchez. The Italian was extremely important to PSG’s Champions League victory last season, and he is a world class player. There’s no doubt he’ll make a big improvement over Chelsea.
If the Bruce can close the deal this summer, we’ll put together an excellent transfer window for them. They are very active in the market and have signed multiple quality players. However, you also need a reliable goalkeeper.
Man United need Gianluigi Donnarum
Meanwhile, it’s no secret that Manchester United desperately needs a reliable goalkeeper. Andre Onana was sacrificing valuable points to them last season, and he needs to be replaced. The 26-year-old Italian International is a major upgrade. He was able to turn Manchester United behind and help them fight for a top four finish, and managed to do well in the domestic competition next season.
Of the two clubs, it is still unknown if the transaction can be completed. The player has only one year left on his current contract and he could be used in bargains.
But wages can be an issue for clubs hoping to sign him. He is likely to demand an increase in his current wages, and it remains to be seen whether Chelsea and Manchester United are ready to pay.
