Manchester United target target Carlos Valleva reportedly “for travel” to Old Trafford, although a deal is unlikely this summer.
That’s according to David Ornstein, who suggests that the Red Devils’ pursuit of Valeva is probably not over.
Speaking in the video clip below, Ornstein revealed that Baleba is keen to join Man Utd. So this could be something the club will revisit in the summer of 2026.
“They explored it first through intermediaries and in person in conversations with Brighton,” Ornstein told NBC Sports Football.
“But Manchester United has no plans to move forward with that potential transfer,” he added.
Do you want to watch the summer 2026 from Carlos Valleva to Manchester United?
“He’s not on sale… If he’s been put for sale this summer, the prices are too high. But that doesn’t mean Manchester United will lose interest, perhaps in the summer of 2026.
“Baleva stood up for the move. Personal terminology wouldn’t have been an issue, but he wasn’t upset to leave Brighton.
“So we’ll see if Manchester United will bring in alternative number 6.
United fans will have doubts whether the club should pursue Valeva as the top target, or whether they should consider moving for someone else, even if it means the club will wait until the next summer.
United need more signatures before the transfer deadline
MUFC is busy with lots of investments in the new front 3 of Matheus Cunha, Benjamin Sesko and Bryan Mbeumo.
But there’s no doubt that Reuben Amorim will be able to make more new faces for this struggling team.
Baleba would have been ideal, but United certainly feels there are other more affordable options that can impact it as well.
