Man United started the 2025-26 Premier League season with a disappointing defeat, losing 1-0 to Arsenal at Old Trafford. In the recent weeks, there has been a lot of optimism surrounding Reuben Amorim’s side in terms of a strong summer coming, but that has not led them to victory.
Amorim’s side had 61% ownership, but also had 22 shots at David Raya’s target. But no one could find the backstage of the net, and Riccardo Calfioli scored early on, meaning Man United was defeated.
There were a lot of positive things from a man’s united perspective, but in the end it was zero points. Please read the player’s ratings…
Man United Player Review
Altay Bayindir -4/10- There was little to do, but a big moment came when he didn’t hold onto the corners of Declan Rice. Man United’s goalkeeping struggle continues.
Rennie Yoro-7.5/10- A very strong performance from a young Frenchman who has been moving from strength to strength since his arrival at Old Trafford last summer.
Matthijs de ligt -7.5/10- Another one that was very solid defense and generally limited Arsenal’s offensive play.
Luke Show – 7/10 – The impressive display from the show did very well to keep Bukayo Saka quiet on the left side of Man United.
Diogo Dalot -6/10- Fans were not happy to see him depart before Amado. After this performance, you can understand why. Attacks are not enough.
Casemiro – 7.5/10 – Especially good performance from the Brazilians in the first half. However, he was tired as the game progressed, which led to his replacement.
Bruno Fernandez -6.50/10- A disappointing performance from the Man United captain, which was very quiet compared to his usual standards.
Patrick Dolga – 7/10 – Dolg’s solid performance, helping Shog lock Saka up.
Bryan Mbeumo – 7.5/10 – Mbeumo’s extremely bright performance was a delight for Man United supporters.
Matheus Cunha -7.5/10- Similarly, Cunha was impressive for his male United debut, and he should help Amorim’s side improve dramatically last season.
Mason Mount – 7/10 – Solid performance from the mount as False Nine despite failing to get a lot of correct things in terms of attack quality.
