Man United will have to kick players out of the book to sign any further this summer, and they have set aside some candidates to leave. One of them is Rasmus Hoilund, who was removed from Reuben Amorim’s team due to a 1-0 defeat to Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Hojlund has been difficult for two years at Man United and it’s time for him to leave. And club officials have made it clear that they don’t want the Danish striker to return in 12 months, as has been the case with other players in recent weeks.
Man United is ready to say goodbye to Rasmus Hojlund
According to a soccer insider, Mick Brown confirmed that Man United is ready to say goodbye to Hodglund. The plan is to accept loan offers with options/duties to purchase next summer.
“Mann United wanted to sell Hoilund for the summer. From what I heard, they decided they wanted to move him, but they know that now they’re not trying to get the money they were originally looking for.
“To make the transaction permanent, consultations on the move to Italy have been loaned out. They don’t want to leave it open-ended as they’re back next year and have the same issues. They wrapped it up after the loan.
“It’s time to draw a line underneath that from United’s perspective and players’ perspective. It didn’t work, he wasn’t good enough. He’s an honest young man and I’m sure he’ll get better, but he’s not showing that at United.
It is still unclear how the situation in Hojlund will unfold. AC Milan is interested and it appears most likely, but he needs to work to ensure that Man United’s requirements are met.
