Lamelo Ball appears to finally reach the playoffs

The Charlotte Hornets hope to get out of the downturn with strong performances this season.

The Charlotte Hornets have struggled to impact the NBA for years. Despite having a decent core of young players, the Hornets were unable to put things together.

Under Hornets head coach Charlesley, the team has shown signs of working well. However, there were not many ways to be consistent.

Lamelo Ball struggled to stay healthy and it really cost the team. For them to find success, the young star must be more regular in his figure.

After Hornets drafted Kon Knueppel, they appear ready to make a competitive splash at the now depleted Eastern Conference. But does their roster look like they’re heading for a new season?

The Charlotte Hornets don’t make much noise in the trade markets and in the free agency, but they made some powerful moves.

This is what their roster looks like as they head into a new season:

The loss of Mark Williams in trade with the Suns led the Hornets to run out in a central position. Miles Bridges begins his nod as he proves he can play in that position.

Mason Plumley is 35 years old and no longer has the physical tool to become the NBA starting center. So he will become part of the second unit.

Even on paper, the Charlotte Hornets don’t have a very strong roster. As a result, Charles Lee has to do whatever he can with the players he has available.

Much of the Hornets’ success depends on Lamelo Ball and how healthy he is. At his best, he is an All-Star caliber guard who can play both ends of the court.

However, he struggles to maintain his health, and in many cases his powerful plays do not lead to victory. Lee has to instill a desire to win a former All-Star.

Kon Knueppel and Brandon Miller could become two bright young stars who can shine. Knupel was the best shooting game in college last season, and Lee wants to use his marksmanship next season.

With such a young team, the Hornets can definitely find success. But it’s hard to see them making a lot of noise in the Eastern Conference, unless they move a flashy roster.
