Potter: West Ham must “improve” after Sunderland’s defeatWest Ham begins first Cassad enquiries

After a newly promoted first day humiliation at the hands of Sunderland, West Ham United reportedly launched its first approach to signing the Barcelona midfielder.

Potter: West Ham must “improve” after Sunderland’s defeat

West Ham is very well aware that when the team gets off to a disastrous start, the Premier League must be guaranteed to be a slippery slope towards shock relegation and that his defeat at Sunderland is the turning point for Graham Potter’s reign. Picking up from where they left off last season, the Hammer was dull and conversely vulnerable, Potter’s tenure trend.

Speaking on a disappointing afternoon, Potter told reporters. “In the first half we thought it was good, I thought we did a lot in terms of quieting the crowd and creating some opportunities.

“We got a little late in the second half and we got a goal out of nowhere, which made it difficult. Perhaps the first goal, especially the game with the environment, was a game that was challenging for us. But we tried to push.

“But when we tried to push, we opened up ourselves. The second goal is poor. Mistakes lead to cheap set pieces. And in the second phase we didn’t do the basics enough. The basics aren’t done enough. It’s simple.

That defeat may have been a wake-up call that the people at London Stadium needed both on the pitch and on the transfer window, but now it shows that they made the first move because of Barcelona’s talent.

West Ham begins first Cassad enquiries

As reported by Mundo Deportivo and broadcast by sports witnesses, West Ham has launched its first investigation to sign Mark Cassad from Barcelona. The Spanish giant reportedly values the midfielder at just 30 million euros (£26 million).

Compared to last season’s Lucas Paketa, the quality of Casad is clear. He struggled to match the Brazilians when it came to key passes, but the 21-year-old advanced his play with excellent standards, but was also impressed when he recovered his possessions.

Called the “genius” by U23 scout Antonio Mango, the Barcelona Ace, has plenty of room for improvement and is before him for longer than he has, to realize the potential for a growing number of people still.

For just £26 million, West Ham will land an undeniable bargain and a straight slot-in player this season as one of Potter’s most effective players.
