A new featherweight fight has been added to the UFC 320, with one-time interim title challenger Josh Emmett taking on Youssef Zalal on a card from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The matchup was announced during the UFC Shanghai Broadcast on Saturday.
A stubborn featherweight ranking, Emmett tries to get back on track when he returns to action in October after a loss of decision to Lerown Murphy on his final outing. Emmett has only been on one or three times in his last four fights, but his additional losses came to former featherweight champion Ilia Topria and interim champion Yea Rodriguez.
Midway through that run, Emmett won one of the most devastating knockouts in UFC history when he destroyed Bryce Mitchell in 2023.
As for Zalal, he takes a big step in his career while trying to build on Seven Fight Winstrike in the 145-pound division. Most recently, Zalal has won the decision victory over Calvin Kattal after all six previous wins came by knockouts or submissions.
Emmett vs. Zalal joined the lineup at UFC 320, with a new main card officially revealed for the show.
