The Glasgow Rangers are still searching for their first victory of the Scottish Premiership season after being held in a 1-1 draw from Ibrox on Sunday.
The Light Blues had to have the Academy Alumnus Findray Curtis get off the bench and score an excellent goal to save the point on the side in the second half.
Russell Martin’s team seemed to notice the quality at the top edge of the pitch until Curtis and James Tavernier, who supplied the corners that led to the goal, came in as substitutes.
If the head coach wants to return the captain to the starting XI, if he wants to oppose the Champions League, or Celtic the following weekend, Max Aaron may need to drop out.
Why do you need to drop Max Aaron?
Bournemouth lenders are not scary players and did not perform badly against St. Mirren on Sunday, but they don’t offer the same level of offensive threat as Tavernier.
Aaron only produced one chance in three starts in the Rangers premiership per sofa score, and did not generate a chance in 69 minutes on the pitch of this match.
Although fullbacks in English are not fully offered in the future, Tavernier started only one of three games, creating three chances for the team per sofa score.
This is why Aaron should be dropped from XI and added more creativity to the side, but Lyall Cameron’s position should also be under threat, so the defender isn’t the only player to be mercilessly dropped.
Why should I drop Lyall Cameron?
Martin has to mercilessly throw away Scotland’s central midfielder along with Aaron after the former Dundee man puts on a disappointing display against St. Mirren.
The manager knows he gets a hardworking, tireless performance from Cameron who drives away the socks, but on Sunday there was no quality that was not in for him.
He missed the very good looking opportunity to open up points when Jaden Megoma whipped the glorious ball into the box, but it was a bit of a nasty height.
But aside that mistake, the 22-year-old central midfielder’s all-round performance was not enough to justify his position with the team the following weekend and watching over Game 2 against Club Bruges.

As you can see in the table above, Cameron was unable to deal with the strength and physicality of his conflict with St Mirren.
The opposition felt it was too easy to make him better in one-on-one situations, and he didn’t make up for the lack of physicality that accompanied the quality of the ball or creativity in the final third.
Mohamed Diomande won more duels (one) and made more tackles and intercepts (2) in just 26 minutes off the light blues bench.
The Rangers may need physicality to deal with Celtic at Ibrox next weekend. Cameron should be mercilessly abandoned from XI along with Aaron as they are about to close the gap to their already growing rivals.
