The Milwaukee Bucks have a new roster heading into the 2025-26 NBA season, with one player becoming a key difference maker.
The Milwaukee Bucks had a pretty intense offseason. After the first exit of the third in a row, there were concerns about the future of their roster.
Since his victory at the 2021 NBA Championship, there have been rumours that Giannis Antetocomo would demand a deal, feeling frustrated that the franchise cannot compete around him.
Instead, the Bucks made some bold moves, abandoning Damian Lillard and signing Miles Turner in free agency. Turner, who has just stepped away from the NBA final run against the Indiana Pacers, is a big win for them.
Heading into the new Milwaukee Bucks season, it’s up to Turner to make a difference and reach All-Star status.
Miles Turner will be the Milwaukee Bucks’ second option next season. With Damien Lillard gone, he is the second best player for the Bucks behind Giannis Antetocomo.
Last season, Turner’s scoring output continued to decline as he averaged 15.6 points per game since his career-high 18 points per game in 2022-23.
The same thing happened with his rebounds as he averaged 6.5 rebounds. With the Indiana Pacers, Turner was the third choice behind Pascal Siacam and Tyrees Halliburton.
Now, with the added responsibility as a scorer and rebounder, we hope Turner will take things to another level. In the playoffs, Turner played a big role for the Pacers, and we saw Turner leveling up.
The advantage of combining Turner and Giannis is that the former is a very good three-point shooter, offering Giannis a sharp shooter of centers that he needs very much.
The Milwaukee Bucks have to fight to keep pace at the Eastern Conference. With the New York Knicks, Atlanta Hawks and Orlando Magic all strengthening their roster, the Bucks can’t make it easier.
But it’s not just the NBA Championship that they’re fighting for. For the Bucks, finding success next season is crucial to keeping Giannis Antetocompo happy.
Giannis has made it clear that if the Bucks are unable to put together a winning roster, they will pursue other opportunities to compete for the championship.
Perhaps the addition of Turner could boost the Bucks needed to make the title candidates a title candidate once again.
