The Minnesota Timberwolves prove to be right to spend a lot of money to keep one of their stars.

Instead of making a massive signature during the offseason, the Minnesota Timberwolves focused on keeping major titles on the roster.

To begin the offseason, the Timberwolves re-signed Naz Reid for $125 million over five years, securing the former sixth man for the next few years.

But they didn’t stop as Julius Randle also won a $100 million extension from the Timberwolves. It appears Minnesota is trying to run it on a similar roster.

And one of these $200 million stars is the most exciting asset as it supports Anthony Edwards and leads the Timberwolves’ fees.

Naz Reid was extremely impressed with the 2023-24 campaign. He got out of the bench and made a huge difference for them.

That season, he led the Timberwolves to the sixth Man of the Year award, averaging 13.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game to help the Timberwolves reach the Western Conference Finals.

Last season, when he continued to leave the bench, he took the game to another level. He averaged 14.2 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 80 games.

Now, Reid is hoping his numbers will rise as he will become the Timberwolves’ third offensive option, as he will take on the team’s first role.

With Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Rudy Gobert’s defensive presence in the decline, Reid even managed to become the starting center for next season.

Anthony Edwards acquired the team leader mantle after Karl Anthony Towns left the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Edwards was two excellent players for a while, but the town’s seniority made him the de facto leader of the group.

Edwards didn’t shine as a leader last season when he embraced his new role. In fact, Edwards publicly called out his Timberwolves teammates on multiple occasions during the season.

But even if they were sent very easily, they could still reach the final of the Western Conference. If Edwards fails again, the next season cannot end in the same way, as Edwards may demand trade.
