Polpargaro reportedly failed in attempting to land a permanent vehicle at the world’s Superbike Championship.

Aruba.it Ducati has confirmed that the resignation Alvaro Bautista will be replaced by Honda Rider Iker Lecuona.

The team’s top rider, Nicolo Brega, has also been signed up for the 2026 World Sub rider lineup.

But if the bold pitch from Pol Espargaro ended differently, it could have all been played differently.

Espargaro suggested that Gpone report to Aruba.it Ducati that he could team up with Bulega next season.

Pores Pargaro: “I didn’t retire”

Ultimately, his efforts remained flat as Ducati chose a fellow Spanish rider, nine years younger.

Espargaro clearly does not intend to retire on anyone else’s terms.

His career was never the same as he suffered serious injuries at Portimao in the first MotoGP round of 2023.

He lost the KTM race seat to the Pedro Acosta in 2024 and became a test rider for the manufacturer.

Espargaro became a highly preferred television critic for Dazn, the Spanish broadcaster of MotoGP.

However, he recently raced two MotoGP rounds in place for Maverick Venares. He finished 8th in Hungary last time.

“Sometimes I ask me if I regret retirement,” he was quoted from Autosport.

“No, I’ve never retired so I don’t regret it! Actually, I’m still racing and I want to continue racing.

“I didn’t retire. I had to do it because of the circumstances of my life. I crashed, I was so hurt, I had to recover, I wasn’t worthy of being a MotoGP rider.

“But I didn’t retire — I wanted to continue racing, and I want to continue competing.

“(Competing) is what I do when I ride a bike and the results come out. The idea that I’m retired is not real. I’m still racing.”
