Luka Doncic is here to close down the theory of conspiracy about why he was motivated to try and improve his physique.
Luka Doncic has somehow made what was a rather boring offseason in terms of all the deals and signatures about him.
From the start, Doncic shocked La Lakers fans with his new physique and shared photos and videos of himself looking rather slim.
He then made sure to support the team. Because Donsic hired Marcus Smart for the Lakers after the original defensive player was acquired by the Washington Wizard.
And after Doncic re-signs with the Lakers for $165 million, fans are excited to see his new version, “Skinny Luka,” calling him.
Luka Doncic spoke in a recent interview with Complex News ahead of her participation in the Eurobasket tournament.
Speaking about his recent transformation, Donsic admitted that he was motivated to become his best self, rather than paying attention to the criticism he faced due to his physique and conditioning.
“It’s the best thing I can do. You know. There’s nothing concrete from the outside. Obviously, athletes need to relax from time to time. We work every day.
“I’m not paying much attention to it. People are always going to say something. Not everyone is, but there’s something every day.
“Anyone can say anything. I’m trying to avoid paying attention to that. Please lock it in and do what I do.”
Speaking further in the interview, Donsic spoke about the new LA Lakers roster and how he is mentally preparing for the short and long term to become the face of the franchise.
“Great. I can’t wait to get started. We’ve put together our team. Are you practicing the entire preseason with everyone? I can’t wait to get started.
“To be honest? There’s nothing specific. Like I said, I’m going to be the best I can. I play basketball at the end of the day. I want to win. That’s our goal.
Doncic is specifically focused on winning a championship with the LA Lakers. Over time, he will have the opportunity to solidify himself as the Lakers face.
But for now, as he tries to enter his first full season with the Lakers, Donsic has set some big goals and hopes to achieve them in June 2026.
