Mark Cuba has been quite vocal about Luka Donsic’s trade, leaving the Dallas Mavericks.
The Slovenians are suitable for life as lakers, but trade still haunts Dallas Mavericks fans.
Cuban felt that as someone who was a key part of Luka Doncic’s Mavs, he disappointed fans when the five-time All-Star was officially traded to the La Lakers.
He gave up a majority stake in the team two years ago and had no power to stop him, but even months after Don Sic left the team, Cuba shares a great relationship with him.
The businessman still cares about Don Sic and wants the best for him, but he has no love for the Lakers.
The 67-year-old bought Mavs in 2000. Since then, Mavs and Lakers have had some epic matchups.
Cuba suggested Lakers’ amnesty Coby Bryant in 2011 was infamous. A few days later, a few days after the two met, Bryant dropped a 38-point performance and tweeted “Amnesty” on his X account.
He said he cared for Donsic, but in his words Cuba suggested he wanted the worst for the Lakers.

When asked in the arena if he still supports Donsic, Cuba said, “Of course not. I’m off the court, I want to die Luca. On the court, his f___!”
“I don’t want him to get hurt or anything…”
When asked if he would support the Lakers, the former MAVS majority owner replied: “There’s no chance. I hope they go 0-82.”
“I love Luka dies, he’s a great guy. Luka is a nice guy, but the f___ Lakers. I like Jeannie too, I’m great with Rob, but in that court…”
“Rob killed me. I took my son with me when I played the Lakers after the trade. Rob shows up to say hello.
Don Sic already shows what he lost to the Mavericks when he dropped a 45-point performance when he returned to the American Airlines Center with the Lakers.
He was unable to showcase his true potential in the playoffs due to conditioning issues, but the five All-Stars have been working on himself during the offseason.
Doncic looks ready and is keen to showcase what he can do after a summer job with the Slovenian national team.
The 26-year-old has gotten the MVP scream and when everything goes to plan, Don Sic is trying to help the Lakers play a deep playoff run.
He has the point to prove that Mavs makes the worst mistake by giving up on him and aims to perform incredible with The Lakers next season.
Mavs itself has a great roster, but the health of their stars is key to their success.
| Season (Dallas Maverick Sues) | point | rebound | assist |
| 2024-25 | 28.1 | 8.3 | 7.8 |
| 2023-24 | 33.9 | 9.2 | 9.8 |
| 2022-23 | 32.4 | 8.6 | 8.0 |
| 2021-22 | 28.4 | 9.1 | 8.7 |
| 2020-21 | 27.7 | 8.0 | 8.6 |
| 2019-20 | 28.8 | 9.4 | 8.8 |
| 2018-19 | 21.2 | 7.8 | 6.0 |
Their core players don’t have many best years left. Donsic, meanwhile, hasn’t reached his best yet.
Even if Mavs were glorified, it’s hard to imagine that they could maintain success. Meanwhile, the Lakers have big plans for Donsic as they are the face of the franchise and no matter what happens, the Slovenians play a major role they need to play with them.
