Arsenal is reportedly exchanging documents necessary to finalise the deadline signing of Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie.

According to X’s trusted journalist Fabrizio Romano, Ecuador International is scheduled to be announced today by The Gunners.

Hincapy shines while in the Bundesliga, and he emerged as Arsenal’s top target last week or so.

“Arsenal and Bayer are currently exchanging documents for Piero Hinkapie’s contract. Everything is scheduled to be announced today. Hinkapie is already in London,” Romano posted.

It may not be a dramatic last minute deal by Arsenal, but they seem to be welcoming with one new face on the deadline day.

The Hincapee deal has been on the cards for a while, but AFC fans look forward to seeing the 23-year-old in the famous red and white colours at some point today.

This looks like a great business on Mikel Arteta’s part. Hincapie can operate as both a high standard at both the centre back or the left back, providing ample defensive depth.

Will Arsenal complete other slow business?

Arsenal brought summers like Victor Gyoker, Ebebeki Eze and Martin Zubimendi.

With Hincapie on the verge of joining, perhaps the only other business at Emirates Stadium today is the player’s departure.
