As the situation unfolds for the LA Clippers and Kawi Leonard, the New York Knicks and Jalen Branson will be worried that they will be attracted to attention.
The NBA world was shaken by its foundations yesterday as a shocking claim was made by independent sports expert Pablo Torre.
Torre excavated the document and claimed that Kawhi Leonard and LA Clippers used the shell company to mislead the Superstar for $28 million, avoiding the salary cap.
The news sparked anger among many NBA fans. NBA fans feel that the LA Clippers and Kawi Leonard should be punished for blatantly flaring NBA rules over the years.
But now it appears that the Clippers and Leonard are not the only teams facing punitive damages as Tore may be paying attention to another NBA side.
Pablo Torre guested on The Dan Patrick Show in the aftermath of a recent investigation into Kawi Leonard and La Clippers.
Torre revealed that several people had requested that he look into Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks, given the young All-Star gave up $113 million to re-sign with the team.
“My tip has never been used any more by Jalen Branson’s enemies. ‘Look at it,’James Harden and all of the past rumors
“Well, look, how he arrived at the Knicks, this is where I have to postpone to reports I might or might not about this, certainly interesting…
“That’s pretty good for the Knicks, but I don’t want to go any further than myself…it’s a bit of a bullying.”
This is not the first time anyone has considered examining Knicks’ business practices, especially when it comes to Jalen Brunson’s pursuit.
The NBA investigated and discovered that the Knicks were engaged in recruitment consultations with Jalen Brunson before becoming a free agent in 2022.
As a result, the Knicks were punished by the NBA for tampering and were forced to abandon their 2025 second round pick.
However, if the Knicks attempt to circumvent the pay cap rule to pay Branson while he remains under the apron, the Knicks will face much more severe consequences.
