Four shortened BSB races at Donington Park weren’t suitable for the Scott Redding and Ducati Panigale V4 R, but PBM Ducati Rider says he still enjoyed it.

Reading won in Race 1 on Saturday. It was the first time since he returned to BSB mid-season after starting the year with World Superbike.

Sunday’s three races were up from the usual two in a race that was missed in the first round of the season, all ran to the same 12 lap length as Saturday’s solo outing, but Reading was unable to repeat his victory from the first race.

Redding explained that he had no bikes to win on Sunday.

“This is the first time I’ve done four podiums, four straight races. Sprint races are not Ducati’s strength. I need a long race,” Reading spoke to crash.net after race four at Donington.

“So we did our best we could, we had a mega, three podiums to win.

“We wanted to win more races, but we didn’t actually have a bike under us to get those results.

“Kyle (Ride) was also amazing. This morning we had Brad (Bradley Ray) and Rory (Skinner).

“So it’s a spicy race, and for me, I like to take part in these races. It’s fun, so you fight to win different people at a sharp end and take the podium.”

Reading was fighting in the top six positions when Worldsbook raced at Donington in July, but said his BSB bike actually felt better than the World Championship car he rode two months ago.

“I came here knowing I know trucks, which suits me a little more,” he said.

“This bike felt better than my world’s superbikes around here. I’m sure I’ve been qualifying faster than I did with race tires on my world’s superbikes.

“So I wonder what’s going on on that side.

“But that’s the past now. I’ll see what I’m doing here at PBM race-by-race and do my best to enjoy it.
