The Los Angeles had some obvious weaknesses from the outfield this season. This allowed us to believe we were “team” at Kyle Tucker’s sweepstakes this offseason.
The Chicago Cubs’ four-inning All-Stars are currently hitting .270/.381/.472. He adds 22 home runs along with 77 RBIs, and is almost 50% better than the league average across OPS+ 149.

ESPN’s Kiley McDaniel wrote that the were “referred to by many industry officials” regarding Tucker, which is likely more than a willingness to spend much on past free agents.
Michael Comfort signed a one-year, $17 million contract last year during the offseason, but failed to meet the expectations laid out for him. The veteran outfielder hits just .194 in 2019 with an OPS of .632.
Teoscar Hernández turned 33 in October, a year after signing a three-year, $66 million contract in the past offseason. He recently began to get hot, recording consecutive multi-hit games with the San Francisco giants on Saturday and Sunday.
Defensively, both Comfort and Hernandez show weaknesses.
Hernández has an above average ranking of -9 outs and puts him in the third percentile of qualified fielders. Conforto graded at -7 and placed him in the fifth percentile.
The main attraction of having a Tucker in Los Angeles is certainly his bat, but defensively, he is a better option than the current corner of the ‘ outfield. His OAA rankings put him in the 28th percentile, which is still below average, but his ARM Value rankings are at the 86th percentile in MLB.
