Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves are set to reach the NBA Finals again.
However, during his second year, Anthony Edwards struggled to be ejected from the Western Conference Finals in the playoffs.
The Minnesota Timberwolves were completely missed by the Oklahoma City Thunder as the series concluded with just five games.
Following the heartbreaking loss, Edwards vowed to return stronger than ever and take his game to the next level.
Over the past two seasons, Edwards has lost to a team led by Shy Gilgaus Alexander and Luka Donsic. Clearly, the Timberwolves star proved that he wasn’t at the level of his rival.
According to NBA insider Jon Krawczynski, Edwards has entered this summer with this realization and is working hard to reach the SGA and Doncic levels.
“He’s off the social media grid and is working on the game. He’s not played internationally this summer for the first time in years.
“He was pretty straightforward after losing to lightning in the Western Conference final. He still took a big step towards reaching the level of Shay and Luka,” Krawczynski said via SiriusXM NBA radio.

Edwards already surpasses Kevin Garnett’s postseason legacy with the Timberwolves, but he is still far from leading his team to the NBA championship.
During the 2024-25 NBA season, Edwards has been continuously improved in one division – Leadership.
Even coach Chris Finch praised Edwards for his ultimate leaps as the Timberwolves leader. In addition to this, Krawczynski revealed that the 24-year-old has become the “vocal leader” of the team.
“There have been reports that he has become a pretty vocal leader, and these people have focused on taking their final steps after being embarrassed bounced in the finals of the Western Conference over the past two years,” he said.
At just 24 years old, Ali still has plenty of time to improve. However, instead of taking one step at a time, the Timberwolves star has decided to take a major leap this offseason.
After all, there were reports last season that Edwards was perfecting Michael Jordan’s skills to help him eliminate La Lakers. So, can fans expect MVP-level campaigns next season? Only time can be seen.
