The Golden State Warriors don’t want to look stupid to trade Jonathan Kuminga, just like the La Clippers traded Shy Gilgauss Alexander.

The Golden State Warriors have properly confused the offseason. Jonathan Cuminga’s limited free agency really puts dampers on all their plans.

The Warriors paused the offseason for Cuminga as they were trying to sort out his future with their team.

This week, the Warriors were once again turned down by Kuminga.

Kuminga wants to re-sign the Warriors player options. And given their concerns about replacing him, it may be better to agree to his demands.

NBA insider Sam Amic spoke on Sachtown’s sports radio show about the Golden State Warriors’ deal with the Sacramento Kings via Jonathan Kuminga.

Amic doesn’t want the Warriors to trade Kuminga for a California team.

“There’s a sense from some people that they’re not just about ‘stop him’ in the end, but also about seeing him heading down his path to another Northern California NBA team.

It was run by a man from Vivek Ranadivé. And what happens when Cuminga explodes and becomes a perfect star?

“There are people who feel that it plays a small role from the dynamic level of personal ownership.

“Again, it’s really not relevant because these other things are real obstacles. But I think Joe, like many of the owners, is very involved.”

This is a situation another California team has experienced recently. In 2019, LA Clippers traded the Shai Gilgeous-Alexander for the OKC Thunder.

The Sacramento Kings have been trying to trade for Jonathan Kuminga for a long time. The Warriors have played hardball in the past, but NBA insider Brett Siegel believes Keegan Murray’s offering king can shake them up.

“If they offer Keegans, it changes everything, but that’s not happening. The Kings offer is a monk and in the future they are protected first. Maybe they can remove the protection, but even so I don’t think it has changed anything.”

Keegan Murray is one of the King’s brightest prospects, and they can offer to give up on him in return for Kuminga.

Given that the King plays the same position as Kuminga, you might think it’s unlikely that the King will offer Murray as a negotiation tip, but they won’t lose much.

But it all depends on how much the Kings value Cuminga and Murray. If they see Kuminga as a star-level outlook, they don’t worry about giving up on another bright outlook.
