The Washington Wizard has fully embraced reconstruction after years of struggle.

The 2024-25 NBA season was another disappointing campaign for the Washington Wizards, who finished with an 18-64 record.

Heading into the offseason, it was clear that some major changes were needed to improve manager Brian Keefe’s roster.

As expected, the Wizard’s front office shook things ahead of the 2025-26 NBA season.

Despite the terrible season, the Wizard had to settle for the sixth overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. The franchise chose Tre Johnson on that pick.

But that was just the beginning of a very active offseason for the team. After all, the wizard traded for Cam Whitmore’s young star.

That said, ahead of the next season, there will be all the additions the Wizards have made to their roster.

As mentioned earlier, the most notable addition is Whitmore, as the 21-year-old fell behind in the rocket’s pecking order.

Apart from that, trading CJ McCollum was an interesting choice. This is because former Pelican security guards are likely to come as a veteran on the roster.

With the wizards engaged in several deals, it’s natural that they alienate many players.

But when it comes to the most notable starting point, it’s nothing more than abandoning Marcus Smart. La Lakers wasted not too much time signing Smart as he is a top-notch defender.

Apart from abandoning Smart Getting, here’s a familiar face that will no longer wear Wizards jerseys.

  • Marcus Smart (Abandoned)
  • Anthony Gill (Abandoned)
  • Rechaun Holmes (Abandoned)
  • Jordan Pool (trading with the New Orleans Pelican)
  • Saddiq Bey (trading with the New Orleans Pelican)
  • Kelly Olynyk (trading with San Antonio Spurs)
  • Malcolm Brogdon (remained as a free agent)

Jordan Pool is another important player who will no longer be a member of the Wizard. In fact, Poole is one of the most exciting players on the Pelican roster.

With all that in mind, the 2025-26 Wizard lineup will not be enough to lift the team out of the bottom of the Eastern Conference. Fans need to prepare for another overwhelming season.
