Jeff Teague claims Jason Tatum and Tyrese Halliburton are recovering in very different ways ahead of the new season.
The NBA was hit hard during the playoffs last year when two of the brightest stars fell with season-ending injuries.
In the second round of the Eastern Conference playoffs, Jason Tatum shed Achilles’ tears and finished his hopes for the 2025-26 NBA season.
Things got worse in the 2025 NBA Finals when Tyrees Halliburton tore his Achilles tendon during a game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Both stars are currently recovering and are expected to miss the entire 2025-26 NBA season. However, Jeff Teague believes that the two players are healed differently.
On the podcast, Jeff Teague talked about a recent clip of Jason Tatum, who is exercising while recovering from Achilles’ injury.
Teage predicted that Tatum will be beautifully soothed and will return to the Celtics by February 2026. However, I don’t think the same can be said about Tyrese Haliburton, who is still a hobby.
“It’s crazy. My boys are playing. Do you think he’s going to play this year? Do you say he’ll play… I’m giving him until February. I think he’s back in February.
“I’ve seen Tyree walking and he was (hobling) and he wasn’t playing anytime soon.
Jason Tatum is recovering at a faster rate, but the Boston Celtics can’t be too fast.
If Tatum gets healthy, the Celtics should take all measures and precautions to ensure he is not in a hurry.
Otherwise, Tatum could be at risk for potential injuries. Perhaps even more serious than the previous tears of Achilles.
Tatum is the Celtics’ best player and the team cannot afford a chance in his career and his future.
