“According to NDTV sources, the main point is raised by the BCCI faction on the other side, led by officials who recently confronted Naqvi at the virtual ACC meeting. Authorities argue that Naqvi’s actions directly led to job abuse and disregarding sports standards,” the report read.

Mohsin Naqvi has faced criticism for refusing to hand over the Asia Cup 2025 Trophy to the winner of the Indian team.

The report added that the trophies and medals were taken to a hotel in Dubai after they left the presentation. It is labelled by continental cricket managers as a conflict of interest and a violation of fair conduct.

Naqvi has been accused of mixing politics and sports and allowing personal or political motivations to influence his role. His actions have damaged the reputation of both the ACC and ICC, raising concerns about the precedent set of future cricket events.

At the virtual ACC meeting on Tuesday, BCCI officials Rajeev Shukla and Ashish Shelar faced Mohsin Naqvi in ​​person. They told him that the Asian Cup 2025 Trophy belongs to the winning Indian team and is not an individual.

BCCI also asked Naqvi to officially congratulate the undefeated Indian team led by Suryakumar Yadav, but he refused to do so. The ACC reportedly expressed “remorse” about what happened, but Naqvi has yet to give him a formal apology for his actions.

BCCI has made it clear that it plans to bring the issue to the ICC. They intend to raise the issue at the ICC meeting in November.
