After the game, Roberts revealed that Glasnow was suffering from cramps, which led to his early exit.
“He had cramps in the fifth and sixth innings,” Roberts said. “He hasn’t thrown that many pitches in the past month, so we felt like we pushed him as far as we wanted to push him, even with the cramps.”
Glasnow revealed when he started feeling cramps and how they affected him.
“Probably the end of the third inning or the beginning of the fourth,” Glasnow said. “I just tried to get it out of my head. It didn’t affect me in any way. … I didn’t think about it too much and I was fine.”
Glasnow had a dominant performance in Los Angeles, pitching six shutout innings, allowing just two hits and striking out eight. Emmett Sheehan then pitched seven innings, allowing one run to break the scoreless tie.
Fortunately, the were able to get one run back in the bottom of the seventh inning and remained scoreless until the 11th inning, when Los Angeles won on a walk-off error.
