India opener KL Rahul writhed in agony as Jaden Shields’ wicked shot hit the box. Rahul was surprised by the sudden bounce but the ball hit straight into the box. A physical therapist rushed to the scene and checked on the player, who was crying out in pain.
Although India were bowled out with only 248 runs in the first innings, they held on to their lead and finally succeeded in scoring by defeating the West Indies batting line-up with 390 runs in the second innings. This was his first double-century and half-century from a batsman in this series and his highest batting appearance to date.
In the final session of the third day, the Indian openers came out to chase the target of 121. Yashasvi Jaiswal came in alongside KL Rahul and Jaiswal looked to be in a hurry to win the match itself on the fourth day.

KL Rahul freaks out and cries out in pain due to impact on lower body
Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed early after smashing two fours in the first over of the innings. The batsman fell to Jomel Warrican, leaving control of the Indian innings to his partner Rahul.
Jayden Shields came on from the second innings against KL Rahul. Rahul flicked his trademark flick off his pads and the ball zipped towards the back square leg boundary towards the fence.
On the very next ball, the pacer interfered with the batsman’s guess with a little extra carry, so he pulled his length back slightly and the ball bounced more than expected and ended up hitting Rahul just above the box. The blow was so severe that the batter fell to the ground and cried out in extreme pain.

Sai Sudarsan came into bat at number two. 3: The injury is not serious enough to take you out of the game.
Sudarsan showed promising glimpses of form for the first time since his Test debut in the first innings of this Test against West Indies. The left-handed batsman scored 87 runs and contributed to an incredible partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal that saw him score 197 runs.
However, while toying with short leg forward, he was badly hit by a traveling ball when Campbell swept Ravindra Jadeja. To everyone’s surprise, Sudarsan completed the catch in an amazing moment but was sent off from the field after the blow.
He skipped the third day completely as Devdutt Padikkal came on as a substitute, and also missed the fielding practice on the fourth day, so he did not field for India in the remaining overs. However, Sudarsan came into bat when the first Indian wicket fell in the form of Yashasvi Jaiswal in the second innings of the match.
Sudarsan looked perfect in his innings of 30* on day four, but the injury didn’t seem to affect the young batsman much. India posted a score of 63/1 against Stamps on the fourth day and need only 58 more runs to win.
India’s WTC points table rises significantly after victory in Delhi
India is also on the brink of victory in the second Test against West Indies in Delhi, and with their fourth win at the WTC this time, there is a high possibility that the Indian team will surpass Sri Lanka on the PCT.
Currently, Australia are ranked first with a total win percentage of 100 with three wins from three matches, followed by Sri Lanka with one win and one draw from two matches. They are in second place with 66.67 PCT.
India have won 3, drawn 1 and lost 2 out of 6 matches so far.
